If you do attend the meetup, have a great time and please take lots of pictures and send them to me so I can post them in Team Vox for everyone to see!
Thank you so much to Scott for organizing this meetup. Wish I could be there!
I am now blogging from my college's apartment's common area and man does the internet lag unforgivingly.
So!
Spent the whole day yesterday packing the remains of my stuff , little knick-knacky things. Everybody in my psychotic family decided to go out , so I had the house to myself to tie up loose ends. I was a nervous wreck. checking and re-checking my To Bring List ( didnt work, I still forgot some stuff, photographic memory my a$$ ), and trying my best to fit as many things as I could into my suitcase. Bob and Aiman offered to send me to my apartment ( releasing me into "the wild" ) and I couldnt be more grateful. thanks to Bob's Estima, I managed to bring everything I wanted.
I only have 12 classmates, and surprisingly, even though its just the first day of class, we all clicked so well! we exchanged names and numbers and moved as a no0b pack throughout the whole day for our classes. It's so evident that all of us were a bunch of college babies by the way we flip feverishly through our timetables and yelling amongst each other " hey ! next class at KPD D right? riiiigggghhht" , and " oh look, bun shop!". We all come from different areas of KL and different states but I was amazed by how close we suddenly seemed. None of us wanted to drop any subjects despite mentioning it early in the day ,because we were all so comfortable with each other. Lets face it, we're gonna see each other's faces for the next 2 years, since we're the pioneer batch for the new London Edexcel A level program ( no longer a year and a half syllabus. tis 2 years beetchas! GASP ). I was elected class representative! or in highschool terms, class monitor. eek!
I had biology, chemistry and physics today.
wont go into detail there since the classes were more on introductions , rules and syllabus content than actual lectures. Except for physics though, timid but extremely adorable and helpful Mr Ling gave us experiments on specific percentage of uncertainty in measurement and random percentage of uncertainty in measurements. The physics lab was so extremely, ridiculously cold that everyone whipped their jackets out and I was left to freeze in the unforgiving blistering cold in my sheer tights and thin blouse, because I didnt bring mine! I honestly think Poland is warmer than that lab. Nonetheless, nothing beats being in class again with the board plastered in front and my eager-looking classmates all around. There's something so comforting and secure about it.
I love all the walking I have to do to get to my classes and to my apartment. I love it that im totally independent ( or at least I think I am haha ), that I can go to class, have lunch and um, go home? haha. Im savoring the fact that everything seems so structured. That I feel like I can take on this challenge. That id be okay. That being in college isn't scary. My residence is full of international students from Africa, Iran, Mongolia, Korea , Japan, Sri Lanka, China etc etc. the building is oozing with different ethnicities and culture that I feel like Im getting the best of both worlds ; being in KL and meeting different people from different parts of the world under one roof. or lift I should say. Oh and living 5 minutes away from Bangsar Village and 5 min-walk away from BSC is totally rad! at the moment there's loads of students around me, studying and on their laptops and across the room I see students practicing some dance routine in the hall or maybe thats just the taekwando students? haha
I'm dead knackered now since I couldn't get any sleep last night! I actually took my roommate's flu medication AND chamomile tea to make me fall asleep. She was awake half the night studying for her exam and I was tossing and turning , wiping non existent tears.
Im off to BSC to shop for food ( gots ta stock up that fridge ) and buy dinner. I am positively famished with all the walking!
I'll update soon, hopefully with pictures! YEZZUH!
Why wasn't it you who made me smile after this hard, long, draining day?
Have you ever started crying and could not stop?
Until today, nothing lately has made me break down and really cry til I got exhausted. Until today.
The worst part is, it had to be in public, it had to be where everyone could see. And it had to be when I really didn't want to be upset and cry, that I would only cry even more. When I thought it was finally over, it triggered again and again. It would have shocked people sitting around me to see me sobbing while eating banana fritters. I smile at them yet I cry. I wanted to say I'm sorry if I ruined your lovely meal.
I can't be this sensitive. I don't want to be this sensitive.
Now if only my tear glands would get the memo.
(Yes, I need and have to blame it on something other than my own unresolved issues)
Because the bouncing coconut hair of his ain't escaping my head. G-D, YOU CONTRIBUTED TO THIS. I NEVER REALLY LIKED BOWLCUT BEFORE I SAW YOUR HAIR OMGGGGGGG WHYYYYYYY
And let's forget the fact that he's underage, this picture is osm so much u gaizzzz. I flailed so much over the whole photoshoot because it is full of wide angle awesomeness and vibrant colourful pants <3
I had a blast on Saturday falling asleep on Border's Starbucks, and flailing over photography books. Yes. I am a nerd.
AND I AM NOT A PEDO. Sapa suruh muka dia macam Heechul ha ha ha ha.
Now I'm gonna flail over Doreamon-inspired tshirts baiiii gaiz.
Lalu aku tidur.
Dan terjaga tepat pada jam 12 tengah hari.
Kemudian aku bergegas mandi.
Aduhai...
Dan sakit itu berterusan hingga ke malam.
Mujurlah filem Sepi sangat cemerlang.
Yeah!
I finally went and pick up the physical license and drove the Pajero round my dad's office in Subang as well as back at home.
Since I'm on the roll of uploading the Urbanscapes photos on my Facebook & Myspace, I'm going to put up some pictures I took quite some time ago. This is really not how I look like in real life but neither did I photoshop the pictures. Mostly experimented more on simplicity, exposure and cropping.
Gah, I feel disgustingly vain. I don't know how do those people put up pictures of themselves with the same pose in 2938201 different positions.
I'll put it in point form, y/y?
- I had a rather eventful week. Monday was Muna's birthday celebrating, which saw us karaoke-ing to songs like Basement Jaxx's Where Your Head At. And apparently, I can imitate G-D's rap in Majimak Insa. I know, WHO'S DA MAN NOW YO?
- Tuesday was our market research day. Me and Kelly took the day off from work and went to places like Menara DION and several shopping malls for our research. We ended our day at Victoria Music Station where I practically went nuts buying Big Bang's CDs.
- Wednesday was me meeting up with my mum. I got free chocs and my renewed road tax. Thanks Ma, I love you. Come by again soon, and we'll go Metrojaya.
- Thursday...hm, I can't remember what had happened, but I'm sure something interesting did.
- Friday was tiring. I went fan-hunting (because mine had to go and BROKE DOWN, AGAIN), and I went to Courts Megastore and Harvey Norman, only to be disappointed with their choices. Haih. I finally went to One Utama for Jusco and FINALLY got myself a new stand fan. God. Went to Hoxe's for dinner, and joined Tipah, Muna, Eema and Kelly for a movie marathon at Kelly's place. We watched the new Keanu Reeves' movie, Street Kings, and Big Bang's The Real DVD after that. It ended at 3AM, and I finally went home and assembled my new stand fan before going to sleep.
- We didn't go to Archidex whut?
- And we'll be having a staff meeting next week omg, I'm gonna die. Need to clear up the recall list asap.
- I'm hungryyyyyy. Which means I need to go to Midvalley as soon as possible. FOOOD.
- I'm pretty stumped about Moodoe, but I'm not gonna stop. KELLY BELLY, WE CAN DO THIS!
- I'm enjoying the electronica-trend in Korean pop music. Keep it comin', guys.
- Ok I need to go.
How are you celebrating the 4th of July?
I had my college A levels orientation today! yezzurreey! being the eager loser, I was excited to want to join the student council and every single club in the college.
it was alright, a lot of short briefings and loads of walking ,or trudging I should say, around campus.
I wanted to see how long I could go without talking to someone.
I couldnt, I made 3 friends in 5 minutes.
how can I ever expect to live alone?
orientation is well, orientation haha. surprisingly , HELP's cute-boys population is seemingly at an all time low. yay no distractions. hahaha. oh but the staff are so nice! very charming and friendly and I made friends with a really nice girl called Iqa who- get this - new my flickr? small internet world much? yes, freaky indeed. Bumped into my roommate at the cafeteria while munching on my subway sandwich ( Godsent, as Myra would say ;) ) and met a chinese-american dude who expected my english to be soaked in ye irish accent.
met up with the sisters, mammy and niece at bangsar village 2 ( 4 bucks by cab! GASP ) for more ridiculous amounts of walking before finally going home . Only of course to get ready and head out to a steamboat dinner with the lads and emma at Nanako in ss15 ( OH YUMM thank you bobbeh ) then on to shisha ( milk instead of water in the bong! ) at Azali's stall.
long long long day.
woohoo monday come quick!
